GRANT PROGRAM

Click here for 2010 UJGA PRO Grant Program Application

The UJGA Mission
The UJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to experience the game of golf through competitive tournament play.

The Purpose
The Utah Junior Golf Association’s PRO (Provide Relief Opportunities) Grant program provides top tournament opportunities to young men and women regardless of financial resources. The UJGA believes the opportunity to enjoy tournament golf should not be limited to those who can afford to travel and play a statewide junior golf schedule. Therefore, the UJGA would like to offer financial assistance to those juniors who can compete at the state junior golf level, but are limited due to financial constraints.

The Criteria
To be considered for the PRO Grant, all candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must be a resident of the state of Utah.
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 8 - 18 and a current UJGA member.
  • Candidate’s family must clearly explain their need for financial assistance.
  • Candidates must be a B-student (last semester of school) to be considered for a full-tournament schedule.
  • Candidates must write an essay expressing what junior golf means to them and how it will benefit them in the future.
  • Candidates must list the golf tournaments that they are playing in outside of UJGA events.

All candidates who satisfy the above requirements are eligible to apply for the PRO Grant. The final selection of recipients is decided by the UJGA Grant Committee. Each candidate can apply for the PRO Grant at any time during the course of the season. Grants will be awarded to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.

PRO Grant Conditions

  • Acceptance into the PRO Grant program does not guarantee entry into any UJGA events. PRO Grant recipients will only gain entry into tournaments based on a submitted UJGA TOURNAMENT ENTRY FORM. To obtain Membership Application’s and Tournament Entry forms, see the association’s web site at www.ujga.org.
  • The PRO Grant will cover tournament entry fees associated with a UJGA tournament only. Membership costs are not covered under the PRO Grant program.
  • All PRO Grant recipients are expected to volunteer at designated UJGA tournaments, responsibilities are to include Scoring (12 & Under age divisions), participating in golf clinics, and any other opportunity the UJGA determines to be appropriate.
  • The total number of grants will be determined by the total number of qualified candidates and availability of funds. Grants will be awarded to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
